For all of you who deal with composite or organic materials (or simply want to know more about conservation), here goes a new web resource from CCI (Canadian Conservation Institute) - Caring for Leather, Skin and Fur.
You can find key points on how to take care of leather, skin and fur heritage objects/ collections based on the principles of preventive conservation and risk management. It also outlines the different qualities and characteristics of leather, skin and fur, the causes of damage to these objects and provides examples of preventive conservation practice.
